Spoofed Calls Targeting WyHy Members

New Fraud Alert! Fraudsters have been spoofing WyHy's phone number, making it appear as though the call is coming from us through caller ID, and attempting to trick members into providing sensitive information.

What’s Happening:

Scammers are calling members and falsely claiming to verify recent transactions on their accounts. Once they have the member’s attention, they ask for sensitive information like:

  • Full debit card number
  • CVV code
  • Expiration date

This is not a legitimate method of verification, and WyHy will never ask for this information over the phone. The fraudsters then attempt to link your card to peer-to-peer (P2P) payment platforms to withdraw funds from your account.

How to Protect Yourself:

  1. Hang Up: If you receive a call asking for sensitive information, hang up immediately.
  2. Don’t Share Personal Info: Never provide your full debit card number, CVV code, expiration date, or any other personal details over the phone to someone claiming to verify transactions.
  3. Verify with Us: If you’re ever unsure, call WyHy directly using the phone number on our official website. This way, you can confirm the legitimacy of any communication.

What WyHy Will Never Do:

WyHy will never ask you to provide your full card information or PIN for verification purposes. Legitimate transaction verification will never require sharing your full debit card details or personal information over the phone.
