Our Story Begins in 1953
Back in December 1953, a dedicated group of Wyoming Highway Department employees decided to change the financial landscape. With just $35 in assets and an unwavering belief in the Credit Union philosophy of "People Helping People," WyHy Federal Credit Union was born. From our modest beginnings in a small state office in downtown Cheyenne, we've embarked on an incredible journey of growth and service.
Today's WyHy: A Financial Powerhouse
Fast forward to today, and WyHy is not just a force to be reckoned with but a beacon of financial empowerment across the vast expanse of Wyoming. Expanding our footprint into southwest Wyoming, we've planted roots in Rock Springs, Green River, and Lyman, offering our comprehensive range of financial services to these vibrant communities.

Our 14,000-square-foot headquarters in Cheyenne serves as the hub of our operations, featuring two drive-up lanes with Live Interactive Teller Machines and housing our Contact Center. It’s more than a branch. It’s where strategy, service, and innovation come together to power everything we do. - Casper Branch:

1953- WyHy Founded

In December 1953, WyHy Federal Credit Union was founded by seven members of the Wyoming Highway Department, each contributing $5. From these humble beginnings, WyHy was born with a mission rooted in the credit union philosophy of "People Helping People." Today, we stand proud with over 20,000 members and five branches throughout Wyoming. Our growth is a testament to the trust and support of our community.
1986- WyHy Merges with Wyoming Feds

What started as a credit union for Wyoming Highway Department employees has blossomed into a financial institution serving the entire state of Wyoming. We are proud to have opened our field of membership to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in our great state.
2021- WyHy Merges with Green River Basin
