Introducing Power Points from WyHy

With WyHy Federal Credit Union, the power is yours. The power to reduce the rate you pay on your auto loan. The power to increase the rate you earn on your term share certificate. The "Power Points" program is our way of showing our appreciation for your loyal membership and for developing a long-term partnership that will help you reach your financial goals.

What's the point of our new program? We've taken a great idea, first developed by the airline industry, and reshaped it to meet the needs of our most valuable asset, our Members. Just as these organizations reward frequent flyers for their continued support with valuable benefits, WyHy has created a program that allows you to earn "Power Points" for the products and services you use every day.

How Do You Earn Power Points?

As a Member of WyHy, you receive 100 Lifetime Points for every year of membership with the credit union. In addition, you earn Lifetime Points for the interest you pay on your loan as well as the interest you earn on your deposit account or term share certificate. Once a Member earns 2500 points they are considered a Lifetime Reward Member. At this level, your Lifetime Points will never decrease but will continue to increase as your Power Point totals are updated each month.

Bonus Points are also awarded for selected products and services. These points are never included in your Lifetime Points. Bonus Points are earned for signing up for selected financial services such as Direct Deposit, Bill Payment, Online Banking, and E-Statements. In addition Bonus Points are awarded for referring individuals who qualify for membership to WyHy. A new loan or new deposit will reward you with 500 to 1,500 Power Points, depending on the dollar amount. In addition, you can receive 200 Bonus Points if your application is received through WyHy’s website. It’s that simple to earn Power Points. Sign-up is not required and you do not need to carry another card in your wallet. WyHy keeps track of how many Power Points you earn each month and how many you redeem. Our Member Service Representatives can tell you how many Power Points you have available.

During special promotions, WyHy may offer additional Bonus Points on a one-time basis that can further increase your total Power Points! Be sure to watch for these offers throughout the year.

What Can You Do With Your Power Points?

Once you have earned enough Power Points you can use them to get a higher rate on a term share certificate. An increase over the current rate being paid of 0.25% requires 2,500 points while 0.50% requires 5,000 points. You can also use your Power Points to reduce the current rate charged on a new loan with WyHy. A reduction of 0.25% again requires 2,500 points with 5,000 points being needed to lower the rate by 0.50%.

Lifetime Reward Members can use their points to waive fees such as Non-Sufficient Funds and Courtesy Pay fees. It's simple to figure the number of Power Points necessary to waive these fees. Take any fee on the schedule where Power Points can be applied and add "0" to the dollar amount. For example, should you need to stop payment on an item, the fee is $15.00 per item. To waive the fee would require 150 points, 15 + 0 = 150. Remember, you must have earned 2500 Lifetime Points in order to use them to waive fees.
